The mountain stage race kicks off today between Ribes de Freser and Núria under ideal weather conditions to mark a decade of trail running.
The Pyrenees Stage Run (PSR) officially launched its 10th edition today, celebrating a milestone decade that consolidates the event as one of the premier stage races in the Pyrenees. To commemorate ten years of history, the organizers have designed an unforgettable route that combines sport, spectacular landscapes, and camaraderie among participants.
A Picture-Perfect Start: Ribes de Freser to Núria
The opening stage took place today, taking runners from Ribes de Freser to Vall de Núria. Participants enjoyed exceptional weather conditions and an energetic atmosphere as they completed the first kilometers of this special anniversary edition.
A Truly Global Field
This 10th edition features 141 participants from 16 different nationalities, highlighting the event's strong international appeal. The nations with the highest representation include Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Belgium.
Upcoming Stages & The 10th Anniversary Highlight: Vertical Stage in Encamp
The PSR route continues tomorrow, Sunday, with the arrival at Masella. On Monday, the race moves into Andorra, where two stages will be held.
Andorran territory will host the main highlight of the 10th-anniversary celebration: the addition of a brand-new Vertical stage in Encamp. This new short-and-steep challenge promises to be the centerpiece of this milestone edition, bringing together runners and supporters for a true celebration of trail running at the top of Funicamp.
The Pyrenees Stage Run is organised by BiFree Sports, a company with extensive experience in organising stage races. In addition to the PSR, they also manage the Costa Brava Stage Run and the Brama Stage Run, events that stand out for offering a unique experience of adventure and challenge in spectacular natural environments. As always, the support of the technical sports clothing brand Tuga Active Wear has been fundamental, as has the institutional backing of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Pirineu de Girona, contributing to the success and projection of the event.
